Yes, it’s nearly June and so I have signed up for Juneathon – gulp!
It’s not been the best start to the year exercise-wise. I did most of Janathon and a half marathon in March but since then…kind of lost my running mojo a bit. Part of the problem was frustration at not doing longer distances and getting a little bored doing the same short ones – that, and I got whatever random bug was going round this winter that just made you feel nauseous for about 3 weeks and running just made that worse. Excuses excuses! But I have decided that I don’t want to keep running longer and longer distances just because. I’d rather keep running shorter distances but running them better.
I want to get generally fitter and more toned and so I will be devoting Juneathon to cross training and just generally moving about more.
The better (sometimes) weather and Big learning her bike without stabilisers is going to make a big difference! Cycling to school in the mornings and to toddlers with Small, and Small is signed up for swimming lessons starting at the beginning of June (nice timing!). I also want to do some yoga and stretching so I’ll be trawling youtube for some beginners instructions and routines. And there’ll be some running too – got to keep that up!
